Help with USGI mount. I have this mount on my M1A and it seems to be way off on elevation. I cant seem to figure how to get it to go up in elevation enough. I have my scope maxed out in up elevation just to get it close on paper. It is accurate as hell but it seems the mount is 20 to 30 MOA down. Really sucks trying to get some long range. Any suggestions. It seems to have a cam on the side that rides the grove but I cant seem to figure this one out. Thanks for any help

What brand of mount is it? Often with the good mounts a little bit of fitting is needed on aftermarket receivers. Fitting on the receiver mostly but sometimes on the mount too. The most common problem I run into is the clip guide dovetail is too far forward in relation to the vertical slot on the side for the mount. That's what usually pushes the mount down in the front.
Yours sounds like it's high though.
If it's a Sadlak it should have come with some great instructions for adjusting this but basically  you just loosen everything back up and then adjust the cam bolt on the side until it sits about level at the rail. Hopefully it will. Smith and Brookfield mounts are real similar.

Once you have it on right, I highly recommend using some locktight and not taking it off unless you need to change the barrel.
