Thanks, 1981 |
Damn, I only wish I had known they were junk. ![]() I wouldn't have shot thousands of rounds thru them over the years! I've got no complaints about my two M1As being cast receivers. Both shoot better than I am capable of. |
Metallurgically, (from what i've read) that the new investment casting techniques today are just as strong as older forging techniques. Also, steel casts much better than other metals. Cast aluminum stuff usually sucks :P |

Speaking of the M1A, Forged vs. Cast..........read this............. www.m14firinglineforum.com/upload/showthread.php?t=25962 then download this book on the History of the M14/M1A.........you will learn who is making what........along w/ more info than you could shake a stick at............well, hey it's free. www.imageseek.com/m1a/ And, don't forget to download the article about FAKE M14 magazines. Jeez, what some people will do.......lie, cheat, steal, put FAKE M14 magazines into new GI looking wrappers........and sell them as NIB GI. Aloha, Mark |
Speaking of which, does it harm the receiver to shoot Stingers out of a 10/22? Or is that a bad idea for another reason?

I don't follow... |
