Well I received all my Sadlak parts for my M1A, the the mount as well as the other parts installed without a hitch www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=6&t=229708 but when I mounted my 3x9x40 Burris Fullfield II w/ low Burris zee rings I needed to bore sight but the BSA Arbor style I have does not have a long enough .30 cal rod to get past the flash suppressor to give me a accurate reading I tried a larger cal rod to just go in the suppressor but I am or at least hoping that the reading is wrong because even useing low rings on the Sadlak mount ,rear of scope sits 1/8" above rear sight at 11 clicks up the scope does not have enough adj to get it down or get the windage over far enough , it has a total of 220 1/4" clicks on both wind/elev I find this hard to believe so I am asking for advice that there is not enough adj, did I install something wrong? |

That kind of boresighter won't tell you anything with the flash suppressor there (like you've noted). You need something like this, with an added .30 sleeve. It's what I use. It gets you REAL close. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0037606712547a&type=product&cmCat=search&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=boresight&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=boresight&noImage=0 |

I got the elev corrected by tearing it all down and re-installing, I placed the mount in place and ensured there was a gap between the rear of mount and angle face then tightened the screw 1/8 turn I then drove the cam around which drove the mount towards the angle face I contiuned alittle more to make it ride up the angle face higher than I had it before , it made contact all the way accross (This fixed the elev issue) but the windage is off and although I can correct to line it up with the bore sighter there are only a few clicks left, maybe 10 and then I am out of adj, now keep in mind that I am useing a oversized rod on the borsighter (fit the flash suppressor) and maybe this is a wrong reading but I have to ask if there is any windage adj built into the Sadlak Mount? I centered the adj on the scope (120 clicks ctr) and by driving the mount higher up on the angle face I am only adj the elev 12-15 clicks to ctr on boresighter but the windage is way off I sent Mike a Email also Thanks |

Received a call from Mike @ Sadlak on my mount issue, I am going to get a 3/8 rod and put it in the center channel of the mount to see if it runs center to the bore like he suggested I will then most likely center the windage & elev adj and either get a laser bore sight done or start at 25yrds and go from there, I personally find it hard to believe that either my SA M1A or Sadlak mount are off that far as both seem to be of superior quaility and workmanship I will post on my findings when it gets mounted and fired if anybody has any suggestions please offer them Thanks |

I have pretty much the same set up, although I used meduim rings and a different scope, ok, no so much then. I bore sighted mine the old school way, dental mirror and a small object sitting across the room. I was zeroed at 50 yrds in 4 rounds. Much cheaper and just as accurate a method as what your trying to do. I also found I had to add alot of windage on my scope and I verified that my scope mount was centered on the reciever. I used a cleaning rod to check alignment. Understand, that the crosshairs may not be perfectly aligned when it comes from the factory. I'm sure someone a the factory turns the knobs to ensure function after the scopes been put together. If the mount is off center, it should be easy to correct by drifting the dovetail mounting point at the rear of the mount. MPD165 |

I would take the flash hider off but I believe you need a special tool and then you have to realign it or is it not that hard to do? with out the tools. A friend told me to mount it according to Mike Sadlak and the mount my glass and we will start out on the 25 yrd line and move out to 100 |
