Out of curiosity how does the M14 trip the sear on full auto. I have seen the parts on the outside of the rifle but have never seen how it hooks up to the trigger group. Like I said I am just wordering... |

lever along the side of the receiver is tripped by the op rod when the bolt closes, the lever is connected to a sear, that trips the arm or finger of the sear on the trigger,(the part that makes a 14 trigger different from a garand trigger) reload and repeat the selector switch moves the sear (probably not the right name,) out of contact with the real sear on the trigger, the selector lock prevents the weapon firing full auto, and replaces the selector switch,, hth, |
After putting together my parts kit trigger group and noticing how similar they are, I was just reading this earlier today. And the answer is- YES! |
After field stripping the U.S. M14 rifle in U.S. Army ROTC 33 years back, I pointed to the sear and asked Master Sgt. Derby "Is this what allows automatic fire?". Dejavu. Carey |
