Did you try a A1? I just want more of your input. I like your rig but I am still scared to disfigure one of my rifles, you know, removing the sights, mainly. You also may need to post a new recent pic. of your rifle. Por favor. I know your rifle make M1Aers drool. |

The only thing that bugs me, and this is totally just visual observation, is the gap behind the TG. I see some use the Tango Down grip and some use the MagPul but the gap is still there. Does your finger gets garfed up in the gap? The gap on a AR platform is way smaller and alot of people complain about the gap. I look at the gap on PG'd M14's is huge...I could fit my whole finger in there. Now to my actual point...why not take a Miad with the full tg strap built in and cut the tg strap flush to the M14 TG? Is it too low, would it look stoopid? I would much rather remove the one grip screw to have to strip my rifle, than have the gap. I'm really ready to sell off all my other inferior battle rifles to change over to an all m14 battle rifle home. I rebuilt a Poly and now I want another. The Troy stock looks awesome, I'm just not real fond of the gap. H2O help me decide!! |
There needs to be a slight gap in order for the TG to hinge open for field stripping. In my original design I called for a small "gapper" built into the AR grip interface contoured to fill this area without interfering with the TG, but it did not make it to production. I do not notice the gap; unlike the AR there is nothing there to rub the finger on. |

I would recommend the Troy MCS. Thanks Law for the fast delivery and excellent service. The installation is easy. I am a complete Noobie to the M1A and disassembly of the old standard stock to the Troy MCS took me about an hour total. This thing looks mean and I just outfitted it with a LaRue Bipod mount, Harris bipod, and Leupy scope. Pics to follow. Daryn |
My apologies, but I have been to busy to get any trigger time. It's always something, I'm currently waiting on an EOTech 4X FTS. Here is a LINK to my TROY MCS page. |
