I realized today that my ARMS 18 is offset slightly to the left. It's mounted on a new production Springfield M1A. I don't think it will cause many problems for me, but I was just wondering if it was normal. Installation was quite easy, and it just slipped right on to the reciever. There is absolutely no play; it's solid as a rock. Thanks! |

Is it aluminum or steel? The SAInc. aluminum mounts you're actually supposed to tap them in with a mallet to make them fit. You can file the rib to fit the reciever. What is probably happening is the trough in the reciever is too narrow at the bottom and the mount won't go all the way in. You could file the mount to fit. (I certainly wouldn't modify the reciever even though it's likely to be the actual culprit) A hassle, yep, but it's not insurmountable. |
