I think I want one (and a nice M1 Garand. Anyone in VA have either?) but I need to know more. What do I look for? What do I need to know? How much, etc...? Thanks! |
Lumpy gave you good advice. Reese/Sprinfield has nice BM59s. Beware of the "Licenced copies" as they are converted Garands. They may be OK rifles, but many will try to sell them for the same cost as the factory BM59s. If it takes M14 mags it's not a factory BM59 or BM62 for that matter, but a conversion.. If the gas system has a Garand gas cylinder it's a conversion, even if it has a BM59 mag.
