called sadlak this morning and ordered a spring guide from them. its going into my SOCOM16 and if i like it, ill put one in my M1A also, plus the upgraded gas piston. i should have a range report this weekend. but before i start shooting with it in my SOCOM16... the socom DOES use the same spring guides as the M1As correct? theres no differences that i cant see without a micrometer... right? ill let you all know how the range turns out after this weekend, provided all the parts arrive P.S. the lady at sadlak was VERY freindly and helpful, seemed to know what she was talking about |
| Don't expect to notice a big difference with the new spring guide. It's mainly a minor accuracy enhancement and will extend the life of your recoil spring. Depending on what the out-going guide is (round NM or flat), you might notice a slightly different feel, but most likely not. You'd have to be quite good with the rifle to see the accuracy difference with that guide. |
i just thought i would give it a try. if i dont like it in my socom, i can try it in my standard m1a and see if it groups any better |
Again, depends on what you replaced. A flat GI spring guide, you might notice the difference. But a round, two-piece NM guide, you likely will not, though you will be better off in any case with the Sadlak unit. |
