with M1 Garands out of stock, 03's out of stock, What is CMP selling? Do they still have garands at the physical stores, or are they empty? I finally have some cash to spend, and now they are sold out

Welded up drill rifles (M1 Garand).
Some Garand receivers.

Ammo.
Garand and Carbine stocks.
Some gunsmithing tools.
Books.
T-shirts.

That's about it.

The good news is, come September-October time-frame, they will have Carbines and Garands back on the shelves!

Just make sure to bring plenty of dough 'cause they won't be cheap.

The plan is to build them from the receivers they have in stock using off the shelf and aftermarket parts.

Like Fishkepr said, they are building up "select grade" Garands using the receivers they have left. From what I have read over at the CMP forums they will be using new after-market barrels and CMP stocks, so the rifles will look virtually new.

There will only be a few thousand of these guns built and will probably sell for around $900.

This measure is expected to keep the cash flowing until the CMP finishes inspecting and processing the 25,000 Garands they got from Greece a couple of months ago.

It was my understanding that besides Select Grades, they would be offering the standard fare (Rack, Field, and Service) once again.  Also, I wouldn't count on Carbines being on the shelves for very long.  The Inlands proved that.

Damn, You gotta love those Greeks for not forgetting where they got those Garands from. All the Greek ammo too. What a great Time capsule !

We need a Spartan smiley But the Egyptian will have to do.

The only other grade I have officially heard mentioned was "Salvage grade" which basically is a rifle put together with some unservicable parts and NOT intended to be an off the shelf shooter.

There are plenty of rumors to be had about additional greek garands, but the truth is we just won't know for a while yet.  Orest is being VERY tight lipped (I think they learned their lesson with the carbines).  Fact of the matter is we'll know when they want us to know.

They got even some Time Capsuie experts fresh off a project in Oklahoma to seal them up for them.
