I bought a new M1A SOCOM rifle and a couple boxes of 175gr match Black Hills ammo. I went to the range and tried the 147gr fmj and 175gr Black Hills match and the rifle shot flawless(function check). I've been reloading for years and bought some NATO LC 308 brass and Sierra match bullets. The short story the reloads do not slam home and sometimes do not eject the cases. I have to pull back hard to extract the cases. Another one was the firing pin didn't hit the primer. ????? I check the specs against the Sierra manual and everything was okay. ??????? I then took some 147gr win fmj and my 175gr reloads filled the magazine with a few each to cycle manually and noticed 147 extracted perfect and the 175 did not. Some stuck home. I looked at the 175gr bullet and there were scuff marks like lines from near bullet tip back to the case mouth around the bullet. The 147gr did not have these marks and the Black Hills 175gr match no problems. I know it's me but I've measured everything and still at a loss. First time this has happened but that's reloading. I would appreciate help. Thanks. |
