The order was mailed 11/09. CMP order date 11/29. SN 36510XX coming my way.

When the CMP stopped taking orders my order was sitting in their inbox waiting to be processed. mark5pt56. No it's not my first. I have a 5,888xxx CMP Collector and a Fulton with a 2793xxx SA receiver. For some reason I am looking foward to this one more than the first two. Go figure. |
I shoot the Fulton MUCH more than the collector. The SG will be another shooter. |
Congrats Mike!  I KNEW it was coming, as I just got got mine. Got two service grades, I think CMP received my order a few days before yours. My rifles arrived the 15th, but I was out of town . Both are SA's with SA bolts and bbls. One has a pretty banged up stock, with the butt stamped RIA (Rock Island Armory?) the other has much better wood but it's lacking the "P" (definately not issue). I'd guess the metal finish on one at around 85% with the other closer to 90%. Serial # range was 53 and 54xxxxx. I won't be able to put a gauge to them for a while, as ALL my stuff is in storage right now. All and all, I'm happy as hell to have BARELY got under the wire before the cutoff, apparently you were even closer. Let us know the low down on them when you take delivery. Lappy is Happy for ya!  |
I will post when I get it Larry. When I placed my order for the SG I has no idea time was running out. I just checked my order history and noted that my Collector was ordered in early November and I received it in mid November. Seems like years ago. I got into Garands late but at least I have a few. It was really good timing. Good luck getting settled. |

My order for one of the Service Grades put up for sale in November bounced all over hell and back. -Originally ordered a USGI Field Grade. -Changed mind shortly after arrival, upgraded to Service Grade. -Called to check status, was number 300 or so on the list. -Changed back to Field Grade. -Heard a pocket of Winchester Field Grades were available at the South Store. -Called and had order changed. -Saw the post that they were sold out of Field Grades. |
I guess. In hindsight you should have let the original order sit. |
OK, than you got one. I thought you changed the order many times and received nothing. Enjoy the Winchester
