I have read that they are getting better ... what are your plans for this build?
Do you want a standard GI type or are you looking at the new one with the integral rail?

Get one.

Order now and start saving. You will have plenty of time to get your parts together.

Dude, you definately want one.  I got mine last August.  It is well worth it.  I got a government issue model with a chromed barrel.  It is an all H&R build except for the receiver, barrel, and FH.  It is very nice and the workmanship on the receiver is top notch (as well as everything else).

Take the advice of someone else on here and order one now and start saving.  There is a very long waiting list.  I ordered mine last April and like I said, I got it in August.  If you are into building your own, order the receiver now and then start collecting your parts.

Lou and his son are great to work with and will make any problems right in no time (I had a slight issue that turned out to be no problem at all that was resolved in under 24 hours). They are very expensive but well worth it.  PM if you have anymore questions.

Also, you might find this forum very interesting.  Good luck.

I was at LRB in November when I picked up an M1D conversion that Lou built.  He took some time and showed me a bunch of receivers he had, some rifles he was building up, and a new preject he is working on based on an AR10 platform.  It was definitely the finest stuff I had seen and Lou was a super nice guy who takes a lot of pride in his workmanship.  If I did'nt blow all my funds on the M1D, and all the other stuff I bought last year I would absolutely sell my Springfield M1A and get one from him.

I plan on picking up an M25 receiver and stripped AR receiver before moving form Long Island to Florida. LRB is about 45 minutes away!

Picked up a rifle from LRB in October.  The best rifle I have ever owned - hands down.

Quality is top notch and the guys at LRB are easy to deal with.

However, I did not have a significant wait.  Ordered in mid-Oct and had the rifle in hand about three weeks later.  Rifle is built on Winchester parts and has a the SS match barrel, numerous Smith and Sadlack upgrades, and a Boyd's stock.

I plan to order another very soon on an M-25 receiver.

You can't go wrong with these guys!

I got very lucky when picking up my rifle.  I was fresh off of a deployment (actually had money) and I live about 10 minutes from the shop so I figured I'd stop in.  Lou had a standard chrome lined show model on deck that was going up for sale that day or the next.  I snatched it up and never looked back.  With the exception of one issue which Lou handled quickly, it is a phenomenal rifle.

First quality.

Seen here with an HRA M14 receiver.

The biggest difference.
