Don't go with the wood stock or the black krinkle finish stock. The wood stock swells and shrinks depending on weather and affects accuracy. The cheap black finish Springfield puts on the fiberglass stocks chips very easily. At least thats been my experience. Go to Fred's and get a USGI fiberglass stock and paint it any color you want or leave it brown as it comes from Fred's. Unitize that gas system and put a NM op rod spring guide and you'll wring the most in accuracy from your M1A. IMHO |

Thanks for the info grtwht! I ordered a stock and will keep the camo one as a spare. What kind of optics should I consider for the scout mount? I have an Eotech and a Leuppy scout scope, but they are already on other weapons. I'd like more info in the accuracy upgrades you recommended. Thanks! What's the best way to mount a weapon light to these things without spending $600 on a stock? |
