Does anyone have a link or information on how to adjust the trigger pull on an M1 Garand? I have a number of M1s and they all have very different triggers. I don't have a gauge to measure the trigger pull, but I can definitly feel the difference. My best shooters all have a lighter trigger despite the MW. Thanks |
Doing a trigger job on an M1 is probably beyond the abilities of most folks. I have done a number of trigger jobs on other types of rifles, and the M1 is quite a bit more involved than most. Final stages of trigger job involve changing engagement angles and amounts of some contact surfaces. Easy to do wrong, and result is almost always unsafe. Most users should confine themselves to replacing worn parts, polishing obvious wear/contact points, and doing a thorough cleaning/lube job. Beyond that, there are vendors, such as Fulton, Smith, and Dean's that will do good M1 trigger jobs for a very reasonable price. |
| Thanks for the feedback. I really didn't want to start messing around until I had more info. I will take your advice and not touch anything. I was hoping it would be somehing simple. I'm curious why is there such a difference between my Garands? Are the well used Sears and hammers polished from use and therefore smoother? |
