Hello,

I'm interested in buying a M1A and I'm torn between the Bush and the SOCOM.

I have shot both and the SOCOM recoil seems less than the Bush. I know Springfield modified the gas system for the SOCOM to acomplish this, but what all did they change?

It looks like the front sight/gas cyl is different than a standard M14.

Is there anything else different? Op rod maybe?

I just hate to buy something that I won't be able to get parts for sometime down the road.

Thank you.

As an owner of all three length's I would say to buy the bush length. (It is the best all around length). (I am actually conteplating sending my socom of to one of the great's for a chromelined 18'' tube...

+1 on the Socom Muzzle break. That thing is said to be genius! at doing it's job.
