Gentlemen, I have been ask that I should post my files on my web site and NOT to the M1 Garand Boards as I do now. What do you guys think I sould do. Drop the Boards, or post as I do now ? Important input please as I might have to drop one site already. Thanks again Clancy http://www.garandm1rifle.com |
I think you're asking where you should upload your files to, and which web server should host them. If you're wanting AR15.com to host them, as reference material only, you might try getting in touch with Goatboy (The site owner/administrator here). Otherwise, if you are already hosting them on your own server, you can always link to them from here. If you are wanting to post the files in hope of selling the CD's or bound copy of the papers, you should post a thread in the Equipment Exchange in the Rifle & Shotgun Parts and Accessories category |
Was it someone from this Board who asked you to do this? |
No kidding..I thought this was a Tech Forum..who in the hell would NOT want to post this kind of info here? |
I don't think it'a a matter of a place to host files. He has posted this before & I think there are a few sites that just don't want him posting his information. Some kind of jealousy bullshit IMHO. Like I said in the other thread, just post the sites that aren't friendly to your generous information & I will stop frequenting them immediatly as, I am sure, will others who appreciate your time & effort. |

Gentlemen, Many guys tell me my data is old info that they don't see why I post it. Others tell me I take up to much space I know it's crazy, but that's some of the answers I get. I am trying to get some sponsors for about 50 buck a month to help me keep up my sites and other costs. That's what I think the Boss is looking for and she sometimes gets P.O. with some of the data I get telling me my data is not important to them unless I can tell them how much their M1 is worth and when was it built. I have been paying all the costs out of the Boss pocket and she can't see why the guys don't try to help me out?? By buying a book/CD Anyway thanks guys for your comebacks. Ed ps I will try to keep my data as is for as long as I can. |
I don't understand what's going on .. or exactly what you are asking or saying.. but if it has anything to do with photos I suggest a free account on photobucket.. you get a free 1 GB of storage space for hosting pix and a free 10gb bandwidth a month. |

Clancy, I'm not sure what you're asking. If you're asking if you should discontinue posting your files here, my answer is not just no, but HELL NO! You post some of the most fascinating information available on this site, and it's all straight from the horse's mouth. Your posts are some of my favorite to read and i ALWAYS learn something new from them. As to storage space for the photos, as said before, use a free server like photobucket or similar |
Sorry, I have to parse this one;
Unless they are the late John Cantius Garand, can you give them a message from me? STFU! I think more than one of us here has said, you post info we see nowhere else. I would love to know where it comes from, but I will just count myself lucky to get what I get.
I hate to disagree with the Boss, but they can get value & serial number info anywhere. Pattons Letters? How about that pic of the guy giving the General the first Garand. Rain problems? Man the information we get from you comes from no other source I know of, and I have command of all the power of the internet!!!!
cough, cough, ok, time to fess up. I have been remiss and I will buy a CD after the first of the year.
thanks! ![]() |

Gentlemen, All I am trying to do is to get the real Ordnance data out there. Sure my posts go to my sites to maybe sell a book or a CD haven't sold one for a long time. This stuff goes against many guys who heard at a gun show of shop a story on the M1 and that's what they go by and will not change, Even if I post the Ordnance Order they still tell me my stuff is wrong. Some of you might see what I am up against. Gentlemen thanks for you comebacks. Even if I could sell you just a copy of the CD you would be back for more. Just letting me know that you guys are even reading my data helps. Thanks again Ed |
