What do you end up with when you look at a collector grade?

Matching barrel, reciever ,trigger group etc right down to a correct piece of wood?

Are the un issued ?

Tell me some details and your experience please

I feel the need......

I took this photo at the South Store in Anniston in September. These are the H&Rs. They barely had the top layer of cosmoline wiped off. They sure looked unissued to me. If they have any left in January I'm getting me one!

If those are unissued, what is so special about the pair they have for $25,000?

Never dipped in cosmo?

Don't know why they are worth so much unless they have sequential serial numbers.

The current crop of collector-grade Garands were shipped to Greece but never removed from their packing crates because the Greeks were already transitioning to modern battle rifles. I believe they went to the FAL after the Garand.

The pair fro $25,000 are new in the wrapper and sequential serial numbers.  They're on display in a glass display case at the South store.

I wonder why the front handgaurd is so much darker than the rest of the wood and what is the purpose of wrapping the front sights in foil?

i was there this past friday, and there were only a dozen or so CG's left.  The stock they had has been exhausted.  i am selling a FG and a few other guns to fund the CG I picked up there

I'm pretty sure the Garands in the glass case are NOT sequentially serial numbered, unless I was hallucinating when I was looking at them in Sept. They ARE brand new, never left the country, still in wrap and box WW2 Garands, which are worth a heck of alot-although I don't know about $25K.

But if the above auction is any indication, maybe they are. $9k for a HR? I think I'll keep my CGs.
