What is the longetivity of the spring in an M-14 USGI magazine if I keep it loaded all the time. I have one magazine loaded in my M1A that I like to keep in my bed-room closet, I'd lean towards buying a Taiwanese magazine if it really strains out the spring.

M-14 Magazine Spring Life-Span?

Longer than yours.

Don't worry about it.

If a spring is made from quality materials to begin with (which GI M14 mags are), cycling of the spring is what induces wear, not constant compression.

If you're really worried about it, rotate the loaded magazine out once or twice a year.

Good shit, I had no idea they last that long.

They will last forever so long as there is no rust pitting to degrade the surface of the spring creating "stress risers".

most mags (not just M14 mags) are worn by cycling the spring (the normal compression/release of loading and firing it)  even if you were to cycle it every day it would still last a LOOOONG time.  The key is keeping the mag itself in good shape.  do not allow it to rust, or it's downhill from there.  i like to break my M14 mags down every couple of months just to wipe out the inside and apply some CLP.  Just be careful when doing so to not bend the floor plate or anything like that.
