Your scout looks great! I am currently contemplating the purchase of a Scout vs SOCOM 16.

Thanks guys!

The cheekpiece is fromKarsten's Custom Camo

I went with the Scout because I was looking for a jack of all trades and master of none  Seriously if CQB comes my way (very unlikely) and shoot and scoot with my M4gery.  I figured with the Scout I can always remove the Aimpoint and get a decent mount & scope for a Bush configuration and still be pleased.  This rifle has functioned 100% (all SAI parts except the add ons you see) and will out shoot me each and every time.

One of my Scout's has a mossy oak stock also, it is one fine looking and functioning, accurate rifle.

did it co witness without the cheek rest?

I like the stock.  It's a standard hunting camo pattern and it works well.  After mounting the Aimpoint the cheek piece really brought the whole thing together.  Huge difference.

The Aimpoint doesn't co witness with the irons with or without the cheek piece.

Talk to me about how you attached that cheek rest.  Didja just grab the DeWalt and drill two holes like a maniac?

Did a bit of measuring and then some pencil marks.  Next some tape and rubberbands and more measuring and more pencil marks.  Then I grabbed the DeWalt and drilled two holes like a maniac.

It was very straight forward and pretty quick.  It's no big deal to drill two holes.

Thanks for the firsthand anecdote - the stock is hollow in that area, correct?  It looks really functional.

Hanz, glad to hear the cheek piece is working as planned.

Allerian,

As for that part of the stockbeing hollow, yes there are 2 holes for the cleaning kit there. if you drill the hole at the top of the slots as shown in the instruction sheets you will just clean the top of the upper hole and still have space for the kit.

The position/placement of the holes will alos allow the cheek piece to be dropped flat on the stock or raides to a height of at least 1.75 inches as well as canted higher in the rear on the straight slotted version.
