We usually have a thread on here for rifle pics.  So how about a thread for groups shot?  I would love to see pics.  If no pics, numbers are good too.  It might help build a trend if enough information is included.  Updates are useful after you make changes.

This should be a great thread.  I took the M14 to the range the other day.  I didn't shoot groups, but I shot one of those ballistic cubes.  Any shots that didn't hit it were really close.  My shooting was offhand from 100 with iron sights.  Gotta love that rifle design.

Good shooting.  This is going to be an awesome thread.

BTW guys, if your gun DIDN'T shoot well, don't hesitate to post it here too.  Accuracy is part science, and in the quest for knowledge, a failure also success.

When I get my JAE-100 in, we'll get to run a direct comparison there.  Also, I plan to add 175's to my mix soon.  Also, I just traded for a national match gun build on an armscorp reciever.  That will be telling as well.

Looks like some good performance.  Who did you buy your guide rod from?  If you are getting 1", it looks like it might be a good upgrade to look at for some of the other guys with high end guns that aren't breakng MOA.

200 yards offhand.  Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
25 meters
15 shots
prone slung
Polytech M14S
Iron sights
South African ammo (the infamous)
My excuse for them not all being in the orange is there was a bee that kept landing on my front sight.  I would shoot, and it would fly off then fly right back on.  Stupid thing.  Of course he wasn't on the post but enough to annoy me.

4" and 3-3/4" 5 shots
100 yards
benched and rested with bags
same rifle, same ammo as previously listed
Irons

My poly runs like a champ so far.  About 200 rounds of South African, about 40 portugese and 10 american eagle.  I love that rifle.

Sort of off topic but also some more of my favorite.  At least there's ammo in the pic.

My scope is flakey.  I'll have to send it back.  Dialing in 1 MOA Down elevation resulted in 4" of drop at 100yds.  Un-dialing it brought the group right back up to original POI.  Something is wrong here.  This was in the middle of a shot string, too.  Not good.

This one's at 100 too.

No accuracy upgrades.  Besides the scope and the GenIII springy mount.  Leupy 2 x 7 VXI.  I think I need some tweaking.

Thanks, although that's almost blasphemous.  Especially with those groups.

My M1A is a standard model with a TRW barrel , H&R op rod . It came w/ a NM .062 front sight and FS . Also I think they put in a match trigger group . It was made 02 .

I got the "deal scope package" and learned the hard way about both the Spingy scope and gen 3 mount .

B4 both the scope AND the mount took a dump on me ,  I could nearly always shoot MOA at 100yds with Port ammo off a sleeping bag . I was amazed . Better w/ handloads but not much .

I'm now shooting irons agian . At least my scoping experiance showed what she can do .

If I scope it agian It will be done right $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I much dislike the handling qualities w/ a scope . cheek weld sucks too but it crapped out B4 I ever even got to messing around w/ a cheek piece .

I've seen photos from Iraq with scoped M14's w/ a towel folded up and taped to the stock as a make do cheek piece

Yeah, I have a sock on mine but I did it after I took the pictures.  It does foul the handling characteristics all up.  I had to try it.  I'll probably shoot it this way for a little and figure out what I'm going to do next with it.

Karsten's Custom Camo Cheekpiece is the bomb.  Fully adjustable.  Nice design.  Easy installation.  Just requires a drill press and 1/4" drill bit.  I put it on, marked the holes, and rolled with it.  Best upgrade ever for a scoped M1A and factory stock.

I'll post pics of it later, on my rifle.  You'll see what I mean.
