I am in a debacle over which trigger to get for my M1A.

Should I get the new cast SA from Brownells?

or

Get an old USGI?

Will the fit be any different?  Will the function be any different (smoothness)?

-Thanks,

or get a Garand trigger.

I have noticed plain USGI triggers to have a much better feel than the cast SA model.  YMMV

If you ever get a match trigger job done, various smiths may find the SA cast parts to be "unsuitable" and demand they be replaced with USGI part.

USGI are always the best parts IMHO.

Call Elmer Ballance,  830 663 5105
former Air Force match armorer. runs a custom shop. he is selling off some of his stock.

he will send you a match tuned, USGI trigger assembly.  He is a very decent man.  I talked with him for half an hour after I was done with my order.  If I had more money I'd buy spares from him now.

His prices are VERY reasonable.
