I don't think thjat that price is out of the ballpark at all.... remember it's a new, unfired, 1943 barrel!! New in wrap 50's barrels are easy to come by and sell for $250 - $275 but to find a new mid 40's barrel is verry rare!!

A wartime barrel that's still new and unfired is a collector piece for sure.....
