I have a shooting buddy - he doesnt shoot much - that has an M1A, he's looking to sell or trade.  He wants an AR-10, which I can get a good deal on or the $ to buy one.  I havent seen it but he's never moved past fledgling service rifle shooter and most of that he does is with an AR - read low round count and well maintained.

THe rifle is 15-20 years old and he a has 30-40 mags.  I dont need the mags (those that know me will find such a denial from a dedicated mag whore supprising) and I could help him convert the M-14 mags for the AR-10 anyway.

So when did Springfield stop using GI parts?  My 14-15 year old NM is all GI except the barrel (its third).

Im looking for a good shooter since my service rifle M1A has been semi retired and I dont want to have to replace a bunch of parts with GI ones, but I really miss shooting my first true love....

Whats a good and fair deal for both of us...?
