I am looking for barrel diameter at the muzzle just before the thread for a National Match Barrel.
I was wondering if they are heavy enough to thread for a 5/8 X28 thread.  Thanks Mike K

I am looking to mount  a suppressor on my M1A.
I would also like to have a vortex flash hider on the end of it as well.

Not enough barrel after the threads to pull it off.
Better solution would be to get a adapter that locks into the FS castle nut threaded area, and centers off the muzzle like the FS.

As for a front sight, just change out the cylinder lock to a Sight cylinder lock, and it's a done deal.

I got in contact with Mark at TROS USA an no luck. He is not fimiliar with the M1A so he is unwilling to take on the project. I think the only way I am going to get this done is if I get the barrel shortened and thread on a blank piece of steel that kind of looks like a blank muzzle break and then turn it down to the 5/8 threads with a decent shoulder.

i HAVE seen cans that were threaded for the m1a barrel muzzel threads. FWI all m124 barrels are the same dia from about the gas port to the muzzel.

If they were not they would not be CMP legal, changing extieror dimensions.

Yes I have seen them as well, however the M1A threads have an insufficient shoulder area for a standard suppressor. Besides if I were to get a suppressor with M1a threads that would cost extra due to the custom nature, besides its not considered industry standard.
