| My Greek racker prints about 12 inches low at 50 yards with the rear sight in its lowest setting. Im thinkin I have to lower my front sight post to get in the black. Has anyone done this? Would it be easier to just replace the front sight? Perhaps replace the rear as well? Any ideas? Thanks. |
Then once the peep elevation is correct/zeroed, loosen the elevation knob screw, rotate the knob to the 100-yard position (keeping the peep from moving, and sights adjusted for 100 yards), and retighten the indicator knob screw. Note: You are aware that the elevation knob can be rotated independently of the peep once the screw is loosened. |

OK. Somebody talk me through this from the start. I have access to a range with up to 500 yard berms. I tried following the CMP procedure but like I said Im a good foot low at 50 yards and was digging a trench at 200. Thanks for the input folks will try again next week. |

Set a target up at 100 yards, Then while your down there, put a coke can about 10 yards in front of the target and just off to the side. Now with a spotter, take a shot at the can, and have the spotter call the shot. Leave the rear sight dead center, and move the front sight to adjust the windage (move the front sight towards the POI). On the rear sight elevation, forget about the dial setter, and just click the peep up until you get close (you will set the dial later). Once you have the rifle hitting close to the can, transfer to the target and start fine tuning the zero (still moving the front sight for windage, instead of moving the rear). Once you have dialed the front windage and the rear elevation in, Now is the time to loosen the right side screw to set the dial. Hold the peep stationary, and slip the dial to 100, and retighten the left hand screw on the rear sight. Now take a few more shots to confirm that you have not moved the peep as you set the dial to the correct 100 yard setting. As for the reason that you want to leave the rear centered is to allow you to have a return zero center point as you shoot the rifle from day to day since you will need to adjust the rear for wind drift on a daily bases. |
