Learned this at the SHOT Show. Springfield Armory M1A receivers are investment cast by Ruger in Prescott Arizona. Shipped from Ruger to adi-limited.com in Australia for final machining. Sent from Australia back to Springfield Armory for assembly.

Yup, old news.... Ruger also uses castings in some of its own line of firearms, The 10/22 is cast, the Ruger single shot rifles all have cast recievers as well. When done correctly casting is OK. Heck the block and heads on your car are cast. I believe that Ruger also owns Calloway golf clubs, and yup, the heads for them are cast also. |

I support the "Buy American" concept 100% and then some. But if a company has to outsource in order to maintain their competitive edge, then that is what they have to do. I can tolerate that as long as my guns do not say "Made in China." Nothing against the Chinese people, but I have a lot against the communist chinese government and the liberals who give them American jobs. |
| I dunno, It dosen't make any sense...ADI bought the old Lithgow foundry, the same foundry that Century had make the receiver for the M1's they used to sell.. (cast and machine)Have Ruger cast them, send them halfway around the world to get them machined, and send them back...Nah, Dosen't make any sense. I think someone's pulling your leg..... |
