What is the width of your scout mount? I have an early Scout and Lepould QRW are too wide to work.

I'm pretty shure they adhere to the 1913 specs which I believe are a little narrower than the average

weaver mount. Is anyone using the QRW from Lepould? If someone or a few of you could take a

micrometer reading it would shure help me.

The Forward rail on the Scout is a standard 1919 Picatinny spec.

I'm getting .835"

I would think that the Leupold QRW rings should work.

I thought so too. Mine dont come close to tightening up. I was just down at the shop ans forgot my micrometer.

Check the depth of the cross-bar on your ring(s) versus the depth of the cross-cut in the rail.

You have to make very certain the SQUARE recoil bar on the QRW's is well centered in the ROUND groove on the Scout base.   HTH.

I've been having trouble getting things to fit right on my SOCOMs rail. From what I've measured on mine, the width isnt to bad, but still not quite right, and the dovetails are no where near mil spec. The cuts themselves are not to far off, but the width of the recoil blocks are. This makes the center to center distance wrong. I've tried two ARMS #22M68 Aimpoint mounts and a set of ARMS #22 lever rings and none of them will lock down tight. They are somewhat snug, but will move fore and aft with just a little hand pressure. I also tried a Larue Aimpoint mount and it wont go on the rail at all due to it having two recoil bars on the underside(to mil spec) compared to ARMS one.(its a skinny one too I might add) If the cuts were at least the right width apart, the Larue has a tension nut on the lever so you can at least take up the slop. I did get the ARMS #22 rings to work by placing the front ring forward against the recoil block and then doing the same to the rear with the rear one. I then mounted the scope to the rings and tightened everything down. It cant slide fore or aft this way, and so far so good.  I've had it off and back on about 5 or 6 times now with no loss of zero. I've emailed Springfield about the problem, but havent heard back yet.

Is anyone using the QRW from Lepould? .

I've owned/used a SA Scout mount for over 7 years, and Leupold QRW and PRW rings fit fine on my example.

The only caveat it that the ROUND recoil lug slots in the SA Scout mount must be perfectly lined up with the SQUARE recoil bars of the Leupold rings before tightening.  The LOW height rings worked better for me than the Med. ht. I ran at first.  HTH.
