| I'm looking to buy a Garand, and have found CMP prices to be the only I can afford. However, I have no idea how to become qualified. Do I really have to be a member of a club, or just take a course? And what about all the other stuff? This will be my first firearm of any kind. Any suggestions are welcome. |

I think all your questions are answered hereCMP that's where I found all my answers. You will not regret the decsion to buy. |

You have to be a member of an affiliated club. $20 and a 37 cent stamp solves that. Then the easiest way to meet the "training requirement" is DD214 (if X-military) or copy of your CCW. The other ways to qualify are listed on the above website. Oh, and there is no such thing as only buying one gun from CMP |
| +1 on what he said. Get a CMP gun. Mine is a rack grade Greek, and I bet it will outshoot me for many years to come. If you can get a service grade, do it; you won't regret the decision at all. Qualifications are fairly easy to get, check the site. I got mine this summer, and I treasure that thing. I will never give it up. It may be one of the first ones lost in 'the terrible boating accident" if it comes to that. |
