I know Springfeild uses investment casting so I am leaning towards FA. I would appreciate any info you guys might have on the subject...preferences... TIA |

Dude do a search for Fulton Armory. You find a lot of discussion here on them. An SA new Garand will cost like $1100. A FA service grade will cost you like $1000 and is built with all USGI parts and all reparked and pretty. I have a match Garand from FA and it is my favorite. Gets a lot of attention at the range which was cool at first, now I just want the old salts to leave me alone. ![]() You wont be disapointed with a Fulton gun. Man their working on a .308 AR. I already have about 4 rifles on my list, that might be 5. lets know what you decide. with pics to..... |

A third and, IMHO, better option than either of the other two... groups.msn.com/WestTexasOrdnance/m1garand.msnw My $800 WTO built 1944 SA Service Grade Garand - Wenig walnut stock, Wilson barrel, and all USGI parts (note:T37FH) ![]() My WTO built 1953 H&R Garand with Wenig maple stock, moly coat, Barnett barrel, NM sights and op rod, and all USGI Parts ![]() My current production SA Bush Rifle with WTO handrubbed Wenig walnut stock ![]() Clayton is refurbing a .308 Garand Tanker for me at the moment, and recently handrubbed a new Wenig stock for my M1 Carbine... He's the best kept "secret" in the gun world, again, IMHO... |
I tend to agree, I was close to ordering a Fulton, but when I called them a month or two ago it was going to be the end of the year before I would see the gun, I did not want to wait... I opted for an SA NM M1A, so far its been fine...I went the CMP route for my Garand, USGI Service Grade... |
FA uses Armscorp receivers. If you want more interesting discussion on that topic read this: http://www.m-14forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=8670 |
