5631xxx hr were can i find serial #info re. year of manuf. yahoo cmp on the way shipped on the way. found serial# for sa 3279xxx

HR5631xxx is a post war gun and my 3rd Edition M1 Garand 1936to1957 by Poyer and Riesch says "No monthly range of serial numbers has yet been developed for Post-World War II production of the M1 Garand" HR was assigned the following serial number blocks: 4,660,001-4,800,000 5,488,247-5,793,847 Harrington & Richardson received its first contract on 3 April 1952 and began delivery in early 1953, ceasing M1 production in early 1956. Ordnance Department records indicate Harrington & Richardson delivered 428,600 M1 rifles. sa 3279xxx is November of 1944 |
