I have come to love my Greek beauty.  Its even more addictive than ARs.  I want more more more.  I feel dirty now.

Aren't M1's just the gnat's ass? I love mine too. Push come to shove I would almost say I like it better than an AR. It's pretty close.

Probably one of the few items people feel compelled to purchase many of and very rarely own just one.

There is something very comforting when holding a Garand and drawing a bead on a target. Can't explain it, but it just feels good in the hands! I have an IHC and a Springfield so far, and am getting ready to buy an H&R from a local seller. I guess I'll stop when I get a Winchester, but probably not.

Yes, they are mildly addictive.

True dat.  I bought my first Garand about 3 months ago.  I bought my second one yesterday.  It's a real beater with a thoroughly shot out barrel. The muzzle mics out at 0.322  Whaddya expect for $125?    I'm going to get it rebarreled, maybe in .308.

Who does this for a decent price?  As I said, it's a beater.  Not looking to make a silk purse out of it, I just want a shooter.

TIA

I think Fulton is running a special now.  Rebarrel for like $200 including labor.  Thats like $100 off of their normal price.

I prefer "ping" to "sproing".

Champions Choice has douglas 1-10 twist, 4&6 groove barrels, both 308 and 3006 for  210 bucks-installed. They're located in La Vergne, TN and have been supplying target shooters needs for a long time. I've heard several people commment favorably on the quality of the barrel and the instalation  work. The price quoted for Fulton is real good also, another well established vendor.

Almost?...

I would throw my AR-15's into the sewer before I would give up even one of my Garands!
