Check with Summit gun broker or the local shops and look for police trades. I picked up a beater police magnum for next to nothing and swapped out worn furniture, added new barrel, and had it cerakoted. Thing looks like brand new now. Was able to sell all of the take off parts for more than I paid for the gun itself.

I bought a new 870 Express for 250 with a rebate from Remington. They usually put them on sale 2 or 3 times a year.

If you can find a Special Purpose it would work also. "Express like" finish but better and good internals.

I've heard of jamming issues on the express models. Like everything, they don't make them like they used to.
I picked up a trade in 870 Police Magnum from a gun show last year that I'm waiting for approval on. |
