Im looking for a new project. I want a short barrelled semi auto. What does the SBS experienced hive think of the performance and reliability of a 930 with barrel cut down to the mag tube?

My buddy has a 24" 930 right now that cycles everything including the AA low brass crap that my Vepr 12 hates.

He's going to cut his at 13" or 14" and I don't see any reason it wouldn't be pretty reliable. His stamp still has several months.

Do it.  If it doesnt like to cycle the light/cheap loads look at OR3gun mods.

Is the gas system easy to modify? Have seen a ton of 1100s done as SBSs and apparently their gas ports are fairly easy to open up.

I have a 14" Mossberg 930 that cycles everything just fine. I did not have to open the gas ports, I started with the 18" version that has the breacher end.

Did you have the barrel threaded for chokes? Looks awesome!
