I've looked high and low and haven't found this: what is the thread (diameter and pitch) of Maglight's C-cell end caps?  I already know it's a 1" (+ a tiny bit) ID tube, but what are the details?  And if possible, what's the max diameter of the cap's threads and the minimum diameter of the tube's threads?

I'm trying to figure out if the tube with caps that I have on hand is threaded that way, just in case I goober up the end cap I need to drill.  Wouldn't that be fun?  Needing a new kit because it has custom threads and I borked the cap?  Yikes!!!

Thanks in advance!

The Mag C in my shop has a tailcap with a major diameter of 1.090" with 20 TPI.
If I did the math right, the minor diameter should be 1.0358".

Hope this helps.

It helps.  I need to get a chance to get into my workroom and do some measurements.

I can find Maglight-compatible tail caps/can end caps in a number of places, and for not too much.  That would make me less anxious about goofing with my drilling.

Of course if anyone has the formal specs (in detail), that would help a lot too!

I apologize for taking so long to get back.  It looks like mine is indeed threaded the same as a Maglite C-cell tube.  Thanks for the help.

The D Sized light is 1.43"x20 tpi or 1 7/16 x 20

The C Sized light is Mag C has a tailcap with a major diameter of 1.090 inch and a pitch of 20 TPI.
According to my calculations, the minor diameter should be 1.0358 inch
