So is there anything I need to do to clear this up? It's my first form 1 can so I'm not sure what to do.

What did you do on the Model?  Did you enter a model or caliber that was not per-populated on the list or not enter a Model?

Most of the people that have this question left the Model blank (which is fine) when they should have picked "N/A" from the list.

All of mine cleared up within 48 hours. But, I've also seen it take 2-4 weeks for others.

I'm assuming you created your own model name...or had to enter a caliber that wasn't in the dropdown. That's the reason for >99% of the forms in PR status. (And is one reason I went with N/A for model)

My first research took 10 days, last one from Oct 15 took 26 days to go submitted. Both were populated with custom model names.

I chose "Manufacturer Code" and entered "FMI" for "Form 1 Registration"

Right...but that didn't cause PR status.

My guess is you checked the box and had to enter something that wasn't in a dropdown. When you got to the end to submit, you would've have a big yellow bar across the screen. It would've looked like this:

There also would've been a yellow triangle with an exclamation point back on the Line Item page as a warning. It's not that anything is done wrong, it's just a combination that wasn't filed before.

How long has it been in pending research?  Live others have said it doesn't mean anything is wrong. All of mine go into pending research because I use custom model names but they eventually go through.  The pending research I believe just means a person has to look at it before it goes into the queue. i.e. a queue to get into the queue.

I imagine if you picked something really 'bad' for the model name it might cause a problem but I've gotten models "REPEALNFA" and "SHTFCAN" through with the same delays as "NOTABOOMSTICK" "MYFIRSTCAN" and assorted other more innocuous names.   Probably got me on some watch-lists but who isn't on a watch-list these days?

did you enter anything for a model number?

I recently had the same issue and got a call from Ted Clutter a few weeks after I submitted. Seems I made up a model that was already in the system and my SN (001) was already being used. He changed the SN and we were good to go.

It's been four days since I submitted my F1 and just received an email stating that the status has changed to "submitted/in process"

I did check the box and enter my own model and serial number. I used 7.62 for the caliber so nothing out of the ordinary there.

Mr Clutter has to be a NFA firearms owner, he's helped so many people get things straightened out. On my first ever form 1 for a SBR the efile system was messing up BAD, it took two hours to get it submitted. During that time my trust name was deleted off of the form and I didn't know it. Once it was disapproved I emailed Mr Clutter with my trust name, I had the approve F1 the next morning.

From now on. Anytime you submit a F1 can with that Model number. it will go to SUBMITTED almost instantaneously, since that model is now recognized. It doesn't matter serial number wise, UNLESS one tries using that same serial number for another build.

My 1st F1 was back before they had the FORM ONE drop down available. 24 hrs from pending to submitted. The 2nd i did 30-40 days later. There were probably 2K's worth of Model's now listed along with the Form 1 box.

Gotta love progress.
