I picked up a Daisy air rifle today for $60 from an antique shop, it was marked as 1940's. The markings are as follows:
DAISY RED RYDER CARBINE
NO. 111-MODEL 40-PATS 8880,555-1,062,855-OTHER PATS. PEND.
DAISY MFG. CO. PLYMOUTH , MICHIGAN. U.S.A.

It has the iconic Red Ryder script on the left side of the stock, saddle ring, cast iron lever and fixed sights. It is missing the fore end. If anybody could tell me anything about it, that would be great. I would also like to know if finding a fore end would be possible.

I'm assuming you want to know something more informative than "you'll shoot your eye out."

ETA: Probably the most iconic BB gun ever. They made kagillions of them. Your best bet for finding a period correct forearm is to locate another gun . . . ideally one that needs a buttstock.

I'm no expert, but most of my friends had those when we were kids.

I had the pump-action one, which had spring-loaded BB feed, because with the lever-action models, you didn't always get a BB out the muzzle.

It helped to tip the muzzle up and down before you cocked it.
