I want a Mini with a wood stock. There are 2 models 5801 w/ 5 round mag, 5816 w/ 20 round mag. I noticed that on the website, the stocks look slightly different, and the 20 rd mini looks better. Are the stocks the same in person?

Looks the same, standard Ranch rifle, just two different magazines... I have two mini 14s...one cost $265 NIB, the other $400 used....I would not pay $900 get an AR15

I'm gonna say those stocks are made to the same "specification," and what you're seeing is just the difference between one piece of wood and another...  not to mention slight variances in camera angle and lighting...

Since Ruger 20 round Mags cost more than a 5 round mag.. that is the difference

I can get the 5rd model for around $650 and I dont like ARs, I prefer traditional stocks. Thanks for the clarification.

$650 is better, they always ran about half to two thirds of an AR in price... I like mine the AR does one job, the mini another

Where do you get a Mini for $650?  I'd like to have one with a wooden stock.  I don't care about the 5 rounds mag, as I am neck high with high caps now

And you don't like accuracy either I suppose.

Why anyone still bothers with that POS is astounding...

Stazi, you remind me of a lot of guys that I used my pencil barrel Mini to shoot against.

I won a pretty fair amount of money from them.

Based on my experience, Mini-14's "inaccuracy" is highly exaggerated.  I can shoot man sized targets all day long with the old Mini's and the last time I went to the range, my new Mini actually produced better groupings than my 16" AR's (initially), but in the end, the AR's proved to hold the grouping more consistently.
