I am looking for one to go on my Mini-30 Tactical. Ruger hasn't called me back, so I thought I'd ask if anyone here has the 411 on one. I think they are one of the best looking wood stocks I've ever seen.

After googling images to see what you are talking about, I can see why you want one. Very nice stock!

I ran across a thread on the Perfect Union forum where someone said it was a distributor exclusive for Davidson's (Gallery of Guns), or you'd have to have one custom made.

Good luck in finding one.

I have a Ruger Safari Magnum, in 458 Lott, with the Circassian Walnut, and it is indeed beautiful. Although, like any other natural occurring wood stock, the individual figure and grain, varies from stock to stock, and some are nicer than others. In the case of the RSM, my first chore was to get the rifle properly bedded, so as to make sure that it does not split out under recoil, thereby ruining my beautiful stock. In addition to the Mini-14 and RSM, Ruger has also offered the No.1 with the fancy wood.

TATEV brand, produces blanks for stock-makers, but prices are often over $2000 (USD). Royal Russian Circassian Walnut, is a bit more affordable, and smaller rear shotgun blanks can be had for around $400 (USD). Kilimanjaro Custom Rifles, is also well known for their Circassian stocks, and likewise also sell blanks. If you ever have the free time, take a browse at the blanks as well as completed custom rifles they offer here.

CDNN Investments out of Texas, has advertised the Circassian Walnut edition Mini-14 as well. Although, I do not know of anywhere, that you can purchase the Circassian wood as a blank, or even pre-cut stock. It is actually a premium hard walnut, from a specific region, selected for it's attributes and characteristics, and used also in veneer and cabinetetry. As far as I know, it is not a different species, but, again, I am just guessing, and not a wood expert by any means. Regardless, it is certainly a beautiful piece of wood, and on the Mini, it adds a bit of class, to the weapon.

Due to the limited availability of Desert Ironwood, I have been giving thought to finding a nicely figured piece of Circassian, to be utilized for a custom Nunchaku build, I am soon ordering.

I have on of the CDNN investment Circassian stock mini-14s.  The grain is very nice, but not as nice as on many other grips and stocks.
