Sure, why not? Just slipped my mind. eta: changed the title. |

What sling is that? |

What sling is that? Probably a CQB sling for an AR. I have one on my Mini in my picture except it's black. 3 point http://www.spectergear.com/m16_ar_cqb_sling.htm Or 2 point http://www.spectergear.com/m16_tps.htm I tried one of mine just for giggles and grins and it works great. No mod needed. |

LarryG was half right, it's a Spectre Gear CQB 3-point, but mine is the specific model for the Mini 14.
What sling is that? http://www.spectergear.com/mini14_cqb_sling.htm Mine's the bottom-sling swivel, non-ERB buckle, in OD Green. It's really nice, I like it a lot. |

I have one of those target models....
it preforms fairly well. I havent changed anything on it so its 100% stock aside from optics. I have a Leupold VX-III 4.5-14x with a 40mm bell and adj parallax a Burris FastFire mounted to a TNVC one inch SAR ring piggybacked on top the Leupold the gun is too heavy to shoot using the red dot for very long, i did it just for the heck of it. the Fastfire is parallax free from 50yrd out and i am thinking of sticking it on something else... i mostly use it for shooting cans at the 100 yard line.... more or less, its a plinker harmonic dampener is adjusted to about 5/8 inch back here is how it was a couple years ago... " />
This is a 3 shot group that i shot at 115 yards right after i got it sighted in the first time.... it consistently shoots 1 MOA and slightly better. i never do better than 1/2 inch @ 100 it likes Hunting Shack V-MAX 50gr the best so far... " />
here is how it is now... like i said, i am thinking about taking that fastfire off and finding another gun for it but... part of me likes it on there.... [/URL]" />
i am wanting to get a tactical model and put a hogue stock w/ aimpoint on it but i got too many projects the way it is and i am not done w/ my Mega/JP AR build that i have been working on/postponing for 2 years |

Zardoz, that parkerized look looks Great!
Zardoz's picture from up at the top of this thread i also really like that brown painted handguard and exposed slide assy./charging handle its a real retro look; i think i have seen it before over at Perfectunion... everytime i see it i wish i owned it.... looks awesome! what kind of strut is that? i know there are a few companies that make them that are out there.... |

Mine is not quite finished. It needs duracoating, plus I've since fitted an Accu-Strut and need to pin the sight further up the barrel. When I'm finished, it should be the most interesting this side of the Atlantic. You can get the wooden heat-shield/hand-guard from Gunbroker, but I doubt they will be available forever. http://i316.photobucket.com/albums/mm329/KoriumLG/001-10.jpg Anaxes, who made the underfolder? I've been trying to find info on a mini I had back in the mid 80s & it had that stock. It was supposedly a version Ruger only sold to law enforcement personell. It had that stock, a barrel that was 16" including a permenatly mounted flash hider, no bayonet lug, & the front sight was part of the gasblock. Wish I had pics. Nice gun you have there! |

If it was a side-folder it'd be a factory stock. The underfolders were made by Federal Ordinance. Gas block mounted front sight is a 556K style thing. Not that your rifle was a 556K, but that's the only models I can ever remember seeing the gas-block mounted sights on. |

|
Thanks Attack Badger.
I do recall the stock being labled FO. The gun I had was supposedly ordered straight from Ruger (as I recall) by a state trooper on his department letterhead, but then he couldn't pay it off. I knew shop owner & he gave me 1st crack at it & I bought it (gun was legal for civialians just against Ruger's policy). As I recall it was a 181 series. Have never seen another like it since. It's come a long way from when I rescued it from a Muzzlelite stock:
