Is it possible to build an SBR from a fully completed lower? or is buying an AR Pistol and converting it the only way? a couple things to consider; the return approval is going to take months , if you buy a complete lower, you are basically just stuck with that until the approved 1 comes back, so you can get the upper to go onto it. you don't need a crystal ball to see what is coming; a panic run as it gets closer and closer to election day, on AR rifles, lowers, uppers, ammo, mags etc.... where prices will skyrocket and supplies will be scarce to non-existence. after jan 20, well who knows what will bring. me personally, I don't see it being a happy ending to this assclown circus we currently are in. . however, if you buy a stripped lower and assemble it as a complete pistol. you can shoot and enjoy that while waiting for your form 1 to come back. then it's just a matter of taking off the pistol buffer tube and putting on a rifle buffer tube and stock. it will proably be easier to find those 2 item, then a complete upper and bolt group. the other thing you might want to do, that is if you have a relative or friend you would trust with your life. is to buy a complete SBR upper have him/her keep it while you buy the complete lower and you keep that. then when you get the approval, just mate it. because WE all know, that every single person that ever went the AR SBR route, never ever, ever had a upper when they filed the form 1 on their receiver |

Here's something else to consider... You can buy a complete lower and still build it as a pistol. |

Nonsense. A stripped lower and a complete lower are both "Other Firearms", even if the complete lower has a shoulder stock attached. Simply remove the shoulder stock from the complete lower and build as a pistol. |
