Hello All,
Not sure if this would be the right section to post, so please move if necessary. I am looking to build a .22LR upper that will keep most rounds subsonic. I am thinking of a 4 or a 4.5 inch barrel. I have a spectre II, element II, RF22 and Mask in jail. I am only wanting a couple inches of the can to stick out of the rail. I have tried searching and haven't come up with much. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Post pics if you have them and include the build specs. I bet a lot of .22 cans are in jail, with many of us getting our hosts in line. I feel this thread will be helpful to anyone trying to build a dedicated .22LR upper. Thanks!

Thank you for the specs and pic. Looks very similar to what I want to do. Has it ran reliably? |

Thank you for the specs and pic. Looks very similar to what I want to do. Has it ran reliably? 100% with everything I have tried, but now all I use is CCI standard velocity. Very quiet! I made a right hand version for my grandson with similar results. ETA: I first built them with Timney 3lb triggers and had sporadic ignition problems. After talking with Tim @ Taccom, he explained tolerance stacking and said to try a heavier trigger and pressure plug. POF trigger and pressure plug transformed them immediately. |

http://i67.tinypic.com/9ht2fa.jpg The cmmg 4.5" barrel setup is awesome. Basically 100% reliability and super quiet with can. This is cmmg 4.5" barrel with cmmg stainless bolt Magpul k grip, mbus pro Armaspec stock on lwrc ultra compact buffer tube Slr 7" rail with pa micro in fortis absolute cowitness mount Nice looking with that PDW stock! Going to probably go with the CMMG setup like ones posted! |

I managed to put together a dedicated .22 upper a while back thanks to a good deal on gunbroker

CCI standard sounds like a staple-gun through the SiCo sparrow. Bulk ammo is supersonic though, so I plan to chop 4" off one of these days. My 22/45 upper / MK III lower FrankenRuger keeps bulk ammo subsonic, and it has a 4.4" barrel. https://scontent.forf1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/14068208_10106722022589778_4907628644438851167_n.jpg?oh=4a2c4aa9f48a034c1c9f9cbb7b68e6a7&oe=58568C6B Taccom makes 4.5" barrels, so does CMMG. Beyer Barrels makes a 4.7" |
