I got a letter from the ATF today saying I need to correct some things on the form 4.

The corrections are;

Model
Barrel length
Overall length

This is only the 2nd NFA item and first SBR the shop has done,so they will most likely not know the answer.

How do I correct these items? Do I line through it and write the correction above or beside it? Do I white it out? Do I submit a new, corrected form?

Thanks for any and all help.

I've seen people do the line through, initial and add corrected info and get approved.
I've seen people use white out and right the correct info and get approved.
I've seen people fill out a new form and send it and and get approved (this one is best if you're not dealing with CLEO certification).

The instructions on the form that was sent back to you telling you what was wrong also contain instructions on how to make the corrections.  As I recall, you one line thru the error and initial and date.  Pen in the correct information.

Edit:  The other methods mentioned above will also work.  I asked them on the phone and a simple pen and ink change is satisfactory.

The one error letter I got a copy of for mine didn't have the "how to"...simply the fact that the name didn't match the trust document. This was on the courtesy copy sent to me... corrected in post below with pic

Would be nice if they'd spell it out. But the single line strike through with initials is usually the way to handle official paperwork.

Interesting.  The error letter I got did have the instructions I posted.  It was in small print though.  Perhaps they've changed the format, or it's just well hidden.  In any case, you posted several good options to handle the correction.

I need to correct my previous statement. It's on the form. I incorrectly assumed it would be included in the section where the error was listed. It's actually part of the error letter itself, immediately below the lined (body) area. Cross out incorrect info, initial and date the correct info.
