| I submitted a form one in December 2014 via the efile website and received my tax stamp in early February 2015. There was an approval signature in the correct place, just like my others, yet this one had a watermark that said "draft". I informed the helpdesk who replied with "will provide a corrected version once the examiner can reprocess it". Now 6 weeks later my form 1 is still "In process". Anyone have this same experience? Have I been rerouted to the back of the line because someone forgot to remove a watermark before creating a PDF? I have always been patient with these things, sometimes forgetting about them but I have followed up a couple times and no response. What should I do next? thanks. |

thank you all, I got my Form 1 fixed and back to me today. Approved by Ted Clutter in fact. Yeah, he is for sure a bright spot in the otherwise unconstitutional NFA... I emailed him back and forth about my form 1. He went ahead and approved it after only 2 weeks He must know something the other examiners don't as he is usually the one fixing the "draft" / "submitted" water marks. |

Is the watermark just an annoyance or is it invalid like that? I think its an annoyance. Some type of setting or box that doesnt get check while processing. Possibly one of those things that is overlooked when dealing with a non user friendly program and/or a lack of training because I am sure everyone in that department is swamped. My concern would be the one time that I get audited or take the rifle out on public land or a range, I get asked to provide documentation that reads, "Draft". Kind of difficult to explain that to someone who cares enough to ask and most likely does not know all the ins and outs of the new system. No worries, I am happy my situation was resolved quickly, I feel like dropping Mr. Clutter another email to thank him but I am sure he has enough on his plate to stop and read a silly email. So if he gets a chance to read this thread, Thanks! @ M4Tank - I dont know if my prior navy veteran status had any effect but I am sure they caught that on my background check. |

Is the watermark just an annoyance or is it invalid like that? As described above, it's just annoying. The form has the stamp, the Approved box checked, and the examiner's signature. The DRAFT watermark just makes it look questionable. It's not a case of them forgetting to remove it. The system has some defects that nobody's been able to find the root cause of. It actually changes from SUBMITTED back to DRAFT, instead of being removed. The examiners don't see the view of the form you receive, and they don't proactively go check it. |
