Does anyone run one on their MK18?

If so, what are your thoughts on it?

if you're a nose to charging handle kinda guy then you might like it but that short of spring might raise issues with reliability.

I don't have a MK18 upper.  I do have a 10" upper that I use mine on pretty regularly.  I like it and I have not experienced any reliability issues.  LWRC seems to have done a good amount of homework and made a quality buffer system.  Using the flatwire spring seems to have solved many of the short buffer system problems experienced by other designs.

Thanks.  LWRC is going to have the UCIW on sale at the end of the month.  That would probably be a good time to pick it up.  I've used the UCIW on my .300 blackout, 7.62x39 and 6.8 uppers.

Here it is on my 6.8 in a mini recce type build.

My 40rd Pmags get a lot more use on this rifle though.

They have a daily sale going on.  From the 27th to the 30th the UCIW is on sale.  I got it in an email, but it also shows up on their home page as one of the scrolling adds.  I think FCG's are on sale today and bolts were on sale yesterday.

what weight buffer does it come with?

I believe the buffer weight is between a carbine and heavy buffer.

i've got one but have only used it in conjunction with my 7.5" upper - it has worked great with the six or seven types of ammo i've used. heavybuffers.com has an "extra heavy" buffer to use with the UCIW, but it's $135 and i'm having a hard time stomaching that much for a buffer.

I run one on my Poor mans MK18.  I had a Vltor mod stock with SpringCo Blue spring and a H2 buffer.  It ran smoother with that combo, but I wanted a smaller over all length for concealment.  The Ultra Compact stock works though, enough that I have not put the old set up back on it.

Can you use a regular stock like say a CTR with the UCIW receiver extension?

Yes, it is standard mil spec diameter and mil spec stocks fit.

Pretty sure the CTR is about 1" longer than the UCIW stock, so there would be no real benefit to running the shorter receiver extension.

About the only benefit is saving .4oz, not much.  But you can cut a CAR stock short if you prefer the looks of a car stock.

Here is the UCIW next to a standard M4 stock.

Here is the UCIW extension next to a mil spec extension

Here is a converted CAR stock on a UCIW receiver extension

This is the UCIW next to the NEA for length comparison

Ive got one on my primary rifle.  its a 11.5 and I love the stock

I have only have one SBR lower and plan on using a couple different uppers on it. Right now I have a Viltor Imod stock with an 11.5 upper and would like to use the UCIW stock with a 7.5 upper, that's why I asked if I could use a different stock with the UCIW receiver extention.

That converted CAR stock looks damn good.

I agree, the converted CAR's are awesome. That one isn't mine, but it's tempted me to go look for a stock to cut.

Should be easy to find one.
This stock seems pretty nice, I picked one up on sale a few months ago and I'm considering purchasing another.
