I did a paper form 1 in May not knowing how long the efile system was going to be down.
Has anyone filed an Efile Form 1 due to how fast they are being approved while they had a paper one submitted for the SAME lower? Thanks, Julian |

Here was my experience down this same path- (copied from another post)
My timeline-> -Mailed 7 paper form 1s via priority mail on 6/12 (day SBRs became legal in WA state) -Checks cashed 6/17 -On 6/24 form 1s came back to efile, I got all excited and created drafts for all 7 of the same receivers I previously paper filed. I then hesitated due to inconsistent info people were hearing from the ATF about what would happen -Called ATF on 6/27 to check if my paper forms went pending yet, they had not -On 7/3 I decided to throw caution to the wind. I submitted the draft forms. I also sent a letter to the NFA branch explaining what I had done and asking they cancel the paper forms in preference of the efiled submissions. -On 7/11 first 6 eforms were approved and number 7 was approved on the 12th. All Mr. Bowers. YMMV. I also have yet to see if ill get a refund check in the mail or 7 approved paper form 1s for the exact same serial numbers in the mail months from now hahahaha. |

I want to do this what do I write in the letter my name, and my trust name anything else |

Here is exactly what I wrote, but no promises this will work for you, since this is the NFA branch we are talking about and we know how consistent they can be. I printed this out, signed it and mailed it to the NFA branch in WV. No idea if this actually worked or if I just lucked out. :)
To: NFA BRANCH, Bureau of ATF Hello, My name is <your name>, and I recently sent <# of forms you paper filed> paper form 1s to make and register SBRs, but have since submitted E-File Form 1 requests for the same firearms, so the paper form 1 requests are no longer necessary. As such I ask that you please cancel the <# of forms you paper filed> paper form 1 requests and refund the tax payments to me at your earliest convenience. The below <# of forms you paper filed> serial #’s were submitted on paper Form 1’s on behalf of the <your NFA trust name>. <your serial number> <your serial number> <etc> Please note the above serials numbers have already been submitted via E-File Form 1 on <date you submitted your efiled>, so please take caution to not cancel those pending E-File requests. I do apologize for the added inconvenience and any confusion this might have caused, and your time and help in this matter is very much appreciated. If you should have any questions for me, you can reach me at <your telephone number>. Best Regards, <your signature> |
