Gentlemen....

im debating on looking into a short AR. The Noveske diplomat is really want i want. I will probably end up putting this together myself.

Has anyone had any issues with the 7.5 inch barrel/gas system? A while back i heard some horror stories but that was back when i first got into AR's and i didnt figure i would have that problem because i "would never SBR" one. Yeah well that didnt last, and now that i have a registered lower, i would like to take full advantage and go short.

Any reason to take the 10.5 over the 7.5?

This is not going to be a weekend blaster gun, this will primarily be used for home defense so reliability is paramount.

thanks guys

Also, if possible, this will be suppressed. Any gas issues with that?

I had a 7.5 and couldnt get it to cycle reliably with the pistol length gas tube. I tried different weight buffers and springs to new avail. I then got one of the carbine lenght pig tail gas tubes and it is fine now. You will probably go deaf with a 7.5 you need at least 2 layers of ear pro

This is not a joke, I wasted my left ear shooting a friend's 7.5.
I am sitting here 2 years + later enjoying the super loud ring from that ear, while I used to just have very mild tinnitus like I do in my right ear.

It's really freaking loud.
