tried to make a mk18mod1 clone. couldn't get myself to get the eotech 553 over the t1 and I the surefire scout is such a better light than the insight m3x. Any suggestions on making this a more correct clone.
complete DD MK18 KAC QD Flash Hider KAC Front Sight Tango Down VFG Surefire Scout m600c (Red Filter Cap for hog hunting) T1 on a KAC QD Mount KAC 600M Rear CQD rear sling plate CQD front sling mount CQD Deiter Sling LMT SOPMOD Stock PRI Gasbuster CH with the military latch. Magpul Aluminum Trigger Guard. Gonna go sight this puppy in tomorrow.

Cool build. You need to post it in here. As far as the light and optic, you are fine. Both are being fielded overseas by Tier 1 operators. Pics in a minute...  |

| tax stamp is completely worth it but the 8 months of waiting almost killed me I'm gonna send in another one for the kac nt4 can next. DD Mk18 is a solid rifle. If you go for an SBR you can't go wrong with it. I wanted to post it in the mk18 pic thread but didn't know if mine was considered a correct clone since I don't have the FDE RIS. |

Fuck 'em if they can't take a joke  It will definitely be the upper of choice for my 10.5" registered Mega lower, and my Seekins I put down for a 11.5" barrel based on the OAL question, so I am starting to do an all Seekins build with a 11.5 barrel and an A2 FSB. Friggin' barrels are hard to find right now!

Hey OP I saw your post in the mk18 thread too.
Nice rifle man! Plenty of guys use the surefire's over the m3x(myself included) the aimpoint....well if you hang out in the mk18 thread for a while....you might switch  , but yours is still clone appropriate.
the rail...doesnt matter color, as long as its dd mk18, although most prefer the fde when doing clone rifles. Your one issue.....when taking pics for the clone threads, have a 30 rd GI mag in the rifle, not a pmag. Makes a huge difference for some reason Save the pmags for the range.

cool thanks and thanks for the tips. i do have an eotech 512 on my other rifle. so nothing against eotech. can't beat the battery life on the aimpoint and the size of the t1. |
