| I submitted a form 1 on Jan1 2012, and today I get the envelope from the ATF. Thinking it building time, I opened it up only to find that they sent my F1 back to me stating that in block H, it's gotta be my full name and city/state. What really asses me up is I filled this one out the same way I did the one in 2009 and it went thru with flying colors. Whatever, with any luck maybe i'll get it back by Christmas. |

So it looks like it took over a year to get approved??!!! That's stupid! My buddy and I sent our forms in October 15. He got his forms February 1st. I called on my forms and they are still pending as of today. |

So what had you put in that block when you submitted the form? First initial, whole last name, city and state. Exactly as I did another on in 09. I'm so tempted to take a picture of my other f1 and send it in with this one to ask "WTF is the difference", you already know so much about me based solely on the S/N that I seriously doubt having my whole first name on there is not gonna make much of a difference. Whatever, paperwork has some numbers on it that I'm taking as my control number, I'll send it off in the morning and see what happens. Took a week to cash the check, 14 months to do the job....government efficiency in motion. Wonder if I can do my taxes the same?? |

If you get it back to them in under 30 days, you won't lose your place in line.
I also have an approved F1 with just first initial, if you stay up on forums that talk about this stuff it is common knowledge that more and more examiners are kicking them back for corrections like this. All my current F1's have full first name on them. No sense kicking the bear, easy fix and technically correct per the instructions. |

I did the same thing in 2011; first initial, middle initial, last name, city, and state. Form was approved with no questions asked. Strange one way is o.k. on one day and not o.k. the next day. |
| The above is why some people recommend leaving block H blank. It's already the law to engrave the receiver or bbl with your identifying info. My last DD and SBR form 1's had block H left blank and were approved Dec 3, 2012. I had my name, city, and state engraved exactly as they were listed in block 3b. |

No kidding. Just like when my buddy and I submitted our form 1's. We submitted our forms on the exact same date and he got his back in less then three months. I'm still waiting for my form to be approved. |

I've never understood that train of thought. If it's alright to leave the block empty, than what does it matter what I put in it? Basicially I'm saying in addition to the required engraving, i'm also putting this on it...right? Seems as though I could put "dinosaurs are cool" or whatever in block H and all I'm saying is i'm gonna put that on there as well as the required stuff. |

All I know is that I've read too many posts from folks with problem form 1's in which the name (name of the individual or name of the trust) put in block 4h differed from the name in block 3b. It now gives the examiner the opportunity to find a reason to kick the form back. Who knows...maybe in the future, leaving 4h blank without putting in your name, city, state abbreviation exactly like it's listed in 3b will cause a problem. I don't even put my middle name or initial in 3b so the name there (first and last) will be exactly what I have engraved on my receivers. |

Someone posted a month ago in here that their form was kicked back for leaving 4H blank. The examiner wanted the name city/state as it would be engraved spelled out on the form, leaving it blank was a fixit letter. So basically, who the fuck knows anymore. It is literally a crap shoot. Maybe you will get lucky, maybe not. FUCK |

Are you really asking to make sense of the NFA process? |
