I was at my local gun store and they had a LWRC SBR on the wall. No big deal and I did not even look at it at first but then the stock caught my eye. It had a shortened buffer tube and a mini sopmod stock. The thing was the neatest thing I have seen in a while when it comes to SBRs. I want one for one of my SBRs.

Where can I get one???

I have checked the LWRC website but they are not listed. I saw an archived thread from summer 2012 that said LWRC was going to start selling them as a kit. Anybody have any other info on these stocks/buffer tubes/etc.???

Thanks

Someone called LWRC about it. They have two buffer weights for it too. Hoping the weights are right for an 8" .300BLK in DI, I'd like one.

This is mine, in ATF jail right now, LWRC UCIW Is this the stock your talking about?

I borrowed the picture from the people who sold it to me and the guy that took it is a forum member here(damcv62), I've not seen the gun besides this picture and I believe I bought it in August/September or somewhere around there.

My SOT called when he got it and said it was cool as hell and a bunch of the officers in the area liked it alot.

Yup thats the UCIW stock and buffer system. LWRCi doesn't sell this alone. Its only available on that rifle.

I've seen these, and I don't get it it.

1. Why would you want your stock to be that short? My SOPMOD on the shortest setting is too short to shoot comfortably, I can't imagine it being shorter. I keep it two notches out.
2. This doesn't seem like a great idea for reliability. It's the exact opposite of what the VLTOR A5 system accomplishes, right?

I'd love for someone to explain it to me. There has to be some advantage, it's not like LWRC is a gimmicky company.

Simply hypothesizing here, to have more room for body armor and to reduce the overall size of the package

This is going to be my 8.2" 300BLK SBR with a regular length buffer tube. Might break out the dremel and tig welder and try shortening the buffer tube/spring/buffer.

The improved cheek weld allows me to have a shorter stock and still shoot comfortably. I think it looks cool as hell.

I'm 6'1" and my UCIW with the short stock and buffer fits me like a glove, better than any of my ARs with the standard stock and buffer. Absolutely perfect fit my nose naturally comes right up to the charging handle with the short setup and keep me right on target shot after shot.

As you can see my UCIW is the first generation with the A1 type short stock and 8" barrel. The new ones have an 8.5" barrel and the stock in the post above. I prefer the A1 style, it's leaner and lighter.
