[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Engraving Abbreviation Question please.

Ok... gotta engrave my AR and Ak and my question is: my name is Sxxxxxxxx Lxxxxxxxx Rxxxxxxxx and I know I have to put my City and State on there aswell.. Can I engrave it as:

S.L.R.
12345 using zipcode instead of city and state?

Definitely DONT want to do it wrong or have to do it over.

You help will be appreciated.

Not AFAIK. Must be:

Sxxxxx Rxxxx
City, (STATE ABBREVIATION)

I was told the name on the engraving should match exactly what is on the form.

That is what I did.

No. Recognized abbreviations only. Zip doesnt cut it.

In a word ... No. You are required to use the complete name of your trust, city and state. You can use the two letter state abbreviation. The info is available in FAQ on the ATF website.

For what its worth, my name is Mxxxxxxx Exxxxxxxx Cxxxxxxx. On line 4h I abbreviated my first and middle initials (M.E. Cxxxxxxxx). The second line of text was my city (fully spelled out) and my state abbreviated (Tn.). The form was approved with no questions and no problems (at the end of 2011).
